Zakłady Chemiczne ZACHEM in Bydgoszcz is a large manufacturing company with over 60 years experience. It has unique plants and specialises in the production and technologies that are the domain of only the largest and the most technically advanced chemical companies in the world.
The main company's product is toluene diisocyanate (TDI). It is used primarily by companies manufacturing polyurethane foam. TDI is offered on the world market by Ciech SA, the owner of Zachem. Another important product by Zachem is epichlorohydrin (EPI). As in the case of TDI, the Company is the sole producer of this commodity in Poland. It is used mainly for the production of epoxy resins and is also offered on the global market.
Zachem is also one of the leading producers of polyurethane foams in Poland and has one of the most modern manufacturing plants, which has been recently expanded and upgraded. In addition, it processes PVC offering a variety of different products to various industries such as the automotive, construction, household appliance manufacturing industry, etc.
Zachem's offer is complemented by inorganic products such as hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide.
ZACHEM aims at producing all these products so as to meet customer requirements in a way that is safe for the environment and workers. This is achieved by the use of modern technologies and new or upgraded equipment. They allow to achieve the highest quality of products, determine the best qualified employees and offer product range opportunities satisfactory to its customers.
Recent development projects implemented at the Company in agreement with Ciech SA include the key technologies and plants, that is TDI and EPI. They are innovative and profound changes, which will result in a complete change in approach to both production types, which is a result of decades of experience and monitoring of the current situation on the producer market. The projects are implemented by the employees of Zachem and the cooperating research institutes as well as specialist contractors from the chemical industry, and the works are co-financed from EU and government funds. After their completion, Zachem will be one of the most modern companies in the portfolio of Ciech Chemical Group with full options for further development.
